recently, the guangdong provincial development and reform commission announced the competitive allocation results of offshore wind power projects in provincial waters for 2023. this round included 15 sites with a total installed capacity of 7 million kilowatts. the national energy group achieved success in the competitive allocation process, with its affiliated guangdong company and guohua investment securing two offshore wind power projects: jiangmen chuan island phase ii (400,000 kw) and zhuhai gaolan phase i (500,000 kw). this marks a significant breakthrough in guangdong's offshore wind power development.
china energy is a pioneer in china's offshore wind power development. its subsidiary, longyuan power, completed the world's first intertidal experimental wind farm in rudong, jiangsu, with a capacity of 30 megawatts in september 2010. in june 2017, it successfully installed the world's first split-type 220-kilovolt offshore substation at the dafeng (h12) 200-megawatt offshore wind power substation in jiangsu. guohua investment, another subsidiary, commenced the operation of the first sino-foreign joint venture offshore wind power project in china, the dongtai 500,000-kilowatt offshore wind power project in jiangsu, in december 2019. it was honored with the 'national quality engineering gold award'. as of september 2023, china energy's offshore wind power operational installed capacity stands at 4.18 million kilowatts, with 3.03 million kilowatts under construction, distributed across jiangsu, zhejiang, shandong, fujian, and hainan."
