the national development and reform commission and the national energy administration jointly issued the 14th five-year plan for building a modern energy system on march 22. the xulong hydropower station and the benzilan hydropower station of jinshajiang co., ltd., a subsidiary of china energy, were listed among 鈥減rojects to be constructed鈥?and 鈥減rojects for pre-research鈥?in the plan, respectively. in addition, the clean energy base on the upper reaches of the jinsha river, with large-scale hydropower stations along the river as the mainstay, was listed as a 鈥渒ey clean energy base to be constructed.鈥?/p>
the xulong and benzilan hydropower stations are the no.12 and no.13 of the 13 hydroelectric stations under construction in the upper reaches of the jinsha river. the hydropower-solar power-wind power integrated renewable energy base, built in the sichuan-yunnan section in the upper reaches of the jinsha river on the basis of the two hydropower stations, has an installed capacity of 11.8 gw. when completed, the base will be able to generate electricity of 30.5 billion kwh each year, saving standard coal of 9.16 million tons and reducing co2 emissions by 21.97 million tons.
