china energy 2020 鈥淵uanchuang cup鈥?nbsp;innovation contest recently concluded in beijing.
the contest aimed to provide a platform for career development of the company鈥檚 employees and inspire their passion for innovation, so as to inject endless momentum into the company鈥檚 innovation-driven, high-quality development. starting in august 2020, this contest lasted for three months and consisted of preliminary review, semi-finals and finals. its jury was comprised of experts from tsinghua university, north china electric power university, beijing jiaotong university and ccteg china coal research institute as well as relevant departments of china energy. participating project teams gave ppt presentations to introduce their respective projects, and then the jury gave scores. eventually, china energy chemical co., ltd.鈥檚 鈥淩&d of coal liquefaction residue extraction and separation technology and its integrated utilization鈥?nbsp;and guodian technology & environment group co., ltd.鈥檚 鈥淩esearch and application of large-mw lightweight wind turbines to reduce prices of wind power to the level of coal-fired power鈥?nbsp;won first prize. three projects including zhunneng group鈥檚 鈥淩esearch and application of new-type anfo explosives鈥?nbsp;won second prize, and five projects including longyuan power鈥檚 鈥淒evelopment of effectiveness assessment and malfunction diagnosis and precaution system for wind turbines in operation at wind farms鈥?nbsp;won third prize. besides, 10 projects including sichuan dadu river electric power co., ltd.鈥檚 鈥淰irtual reservoir dispatch operator鈥?nbsp;were granted excellence awards. the principal designers for projects winning first prize were entitled to apply for the title of chief engineers from china energy.
the contest was sponsored by the science and technology department and the trade union of china energy investment corporation, and organized by guodian technology & environment group co., ltd. (guodian tech) with the assistance of guodian tech engineering co., ltd. entries included 197 innovation projects from 61 subsidiaries of china energy, covering the eight fields of coal mining, coal-fired power, hydropower, new energy, transportation, coal-to-liquid chemicals, industrial technology and environmental protection, and integrated projects.
