on july 14, the national intellectual property administration (nipa) unveiled the list of winners of the 21st china patent award. the 鈥淒enitrification catalyst regeneration method and its application鈥?nbsp;submitted by the low-carbon energy research institute of china energy won the china patent silver prize.
the patent involves a method developed by the low-carbon energy research institute to regenerate catalyst using valuable elements in waste catalysts as active replenishers, aiming to solve denitrification catalyst deactivation in coal-fired power plants. based on core technologies such as big data quick diagnosis, targeted cleaning, and active ingredient gradient distribution, it solved the problem on coordinated enhancement of the activity and mechanical strength of regenerated catalysts, and achieved 100% recycled use of waste catalyst. with this technology, regenerated catalysts can restore 95% to 105% of performance compared to new catalysts, thus reducing catalyst costs by at least 40%. all indicators of the technology are superior to its foreign counterparts, reaching the world-leading levels.
